Adult Choir

The Adult Choir will work on short programs with a wide variety of music. We will tackle some classical, folk and popular music. The conductor hopes to improve participants vocal quality as wells as provide a musical challenge. Lessons will be conducted with all voice parts present. It is expected that participants will take time between sessions to practice and learn parts already covered.

 

Group Piano Level 1A for ages 4-6

 

Kinder-Piano for K4 - Kindergarten

This group piano class is designed for students in K4 and Kindergarten.  Students will learn the fundamentals piano, ear-training, note-reading, and lyrical singing and solfege.  

 

Performing & Fine Arts Camp

The general performing and fine arts summer program provides you with a rich and diverse experience in the arts. At the heart of the program is the Global Arts Studio, a course that investigates culture, as well as masterpieces of famous artists from around the world.

Students in the Global Arts Studio learn about different cultures by studying art techniques from a variety of points around the globe. You will work on numerous art projects that may include fibers, sculpture, drawing and painting.

Students also choose one elective in the following areas:

Dance: ballet class, or hip-hop dance class,

Music: piano, or guitar

Creative Writing: (pre-reading students) picture book making/draw what you hear, or (reading students) write your own nursery rhymes/poetry & haikus

 

Piano for 3.5 year olds

These small classes provide an introduction to study in an engaging and supportive group setting. Students learn the fundamentals of piano study, including instrument technique and music reading. Classes explore a variety of music styles through group and solo playing or singing and participate in NCA concerts. Teachers facilitate the transition to individual study in the second year.

 

Piano for K - gr 2 Level 2

Traditional music lessons are adapted to fit the very young child as young as 3 years-old. We start from the very beginning with making music with artistry, as well as note reading at their level. We offer piano, violin, viola, and cello at age 3 and up, and guitar, ukulele, and drums from ages 4 years-old and up. We also offer group lessons for this age group, which are always lots of fun!

Preteen Pop Piano Class

Utilizing popular music from the radio, preteens and middle school students will learn the fundamentals of piano playing, technique, theory, and song analysis.  We will cover all of the cornerstones of piano music such as chords, scales, and note-reading, but the learning vehicle will be songs by Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, and many others.  

 

SUZUKI PIANO & STRINGS CAMP

This Suzuki workshop, for which students may register for 1 week or all 9 weeks, encourages them to fine tune their playing in a supportive and fun atmosphere. The dedicated faculty help each student and family reach new musical heights. The workshop is open to pianists, violinists, violists, cellists, and string bassists, from the complete beginner/Pre–Twinklers through Suzuki Book 5. A typical day includes:

- Semi-private Lesson
- Music and Movement
- Theory
- Group Class
- Chorus
- Master Class

Advanced Suzuki students who are reading music may qualify for our “Symphony” program. This program requires enrollment in both the Suzuki and orchestra Programs. After morning Suzuki activities, bridge students end their day playing in the orchestra and perform with the orchestra in the camp-wide concert at the end of the each weekly session.

 

University Style Adult Piano Class

The university style group class focuses on rudiments, technique, and select repertoire.  Most of the students in this class take this course along with separate private lessons.  This class is a great way to get back in shape before going into full-on or along with private individual lessons.
