2018 SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS

 

SUZUKI PIANO, STRINGS, and FLUTE CAMP

This Suzuki workshop, for which students may register for 1 week or all 4 weeks, encourages them to fine tune their playing in a supportive and fun atmosphere. The dedicated faculty help each student and family reach new musical heights. The workshop is open to pianists, violinists, violists, cellists, string bassists, and flute from the complete beginner/Pre–Twinklers through Suzuki Book 5. A typical day includes: 

- Semi-private Lesson
- Music and Movement
- Theory
- Group Class
- Chorus
- Master Class

 Advanced Suzuki students who are reading music may qualify for our “Symphony” program. This program requires enrollment in both the Suzuki and orchestra Programs. After morning Suzuki activities, bridge students end their day playing in the orchestra and perform with the orchestra in the camp-wide concert at the end of the each weekly session.

Dates:  June 18 - July 13

Tuition:  $365 per week ($355 for the week of July 2-6, because there's no camp on July 4)

Time:  9 am - 3:30 pm

Before Care:  7:30 am - 9 am $15 per day

Aftercare: 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm $15 per day

Extended Aftercare: 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm $20 per day

Ages: K (age 6) - 7th Grade

1. Due at enrollment: $35 nonrefundable, nontransferable registration fee per child per session 

2. There is a referral reward of a $30 credit when you sign up a friend.

 

Multi Week Specials are available for any combination of weeks and the weeks or days of attendance do not have to consecutive.

PERFORMING & FINE ARTS CAMP

Juniors: grades K (age 6) - 3

The general performing and fine arts summer program, for which students may register for 1 week or all 4 weeks, provides you with a rich and diverse experience in the arts. At the heart of the program is the Fine Arts Studio, a course that investigates culture, as well as masterpieces of famous artists from around the world.

In the Fine Arts Studio, students learn about different cultures by studying art techniques from a variety of points around the globe. Students will work on numerous art projects that may include fibers, sculpture, drawing and painting.

Students also choose one elective in the following areas:

Dance: ballet class, or hip-hop dance class,

Music:  piano, guitar, or voice

Creative Writing: (pre-reading students) picture book making/draw what you hear, or (reading students) write your own nursery rhymes/poetry & haiku.
 

Intermediates: grades 4 - 7

If your child would like to explore different art forms as well as music and dance, the intermediate general arts program is a wonderful summer experience. During their time here,  students will learn with children from all over the world who share your love of learning and creativity.

The heart of this program is the Creative Writing Workshop.  This is an opportunity for students to explore and hone your creative writing skills.  Students will participate in imaginative writing exercises, short reading activities, informal discussion and free writing time.  Class activities will focus primarily on poetry and fiction. Previous experience with creative writing is not necessary.
