National Girls Vocal Ensemble
"Empowering girls to find their voice"
The National Girls Vocal Ensemble is a community of encouragement for girls and young ladies in grades two through twelve from all ethnic and economic backgrounds pursuing extraordinary music education and opportunities for performing excellence. In addition to helping each singer realize her artistic potential, we cultivate healthy self-esteem, self-reliance, and leadership skills within a community of reverence and support. Our hope for every young lady is for her to develop a lifelong desire for the creative arts, community service, and bringing their own unique gift to the world.
The National Girls Vocal Ensemble learns and performs repertoire from musicals, as well as folk songs, American Art Songs, and age-appropriate and interesting selections from all genres of music.
The National Girls Vocal Ensemble has rolling auditions throughout the year, as well as scheduled auditions in the summer and January. Children ages 6 to 17 from DC, Maryland, and Virginia are encouraged to audition for the chorus. No preparation or experience is necessary, a simple session with the Music Director will take about 15 minutes.

Rehearsals: Mondays from 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm. Rehearsals from September through June.
Tuition: $75 per month, in our monthly installment plan
Members of our music-based after-school program, The Capital City Music Project, are automatically enrolled in this class and attend during their regular class time.
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir will work on short programs with a wide variety of music. We will tackle some classical, folk, and popular music. The conductor hopes to improve participants’ vocal quality as well as provide a musical challenge. Lessons will be conducted with all voice parts present. It is expected that participants will take time between sessions to practice and learn the parts already covered.
