Piano & Strings Summer Program

Grades 2 - 9

If you seek an encouraging community of artists where your child can achieve unparalleled musical growth, our piano summer program is the opportunity you've been looking for. Designed for both beginner and intermediate level piano student, you will be guided by an accomplished faculty as you work to develop skills and grow as a musician and artist. Sessions are one week in duration, and dates can be mixed and matched at your convenience.

At NCA, students will learn with fellow students from around the DMV and the world, who share their love and enthusiasm for music. Your child will expand their knowledge and build or improve their abilities through daily piano literature, piano ensemble, performance, and master classes. Students will also learn or improve their sight-reading and functional keyboard skills, as well as collaborative piano skills. In this supportive environment, they will have access to many pianos throughout our facility.

The summer piano program includes

  • Weekly private lessons with a member of the distinguished piano faculty and dedicated practice time on days when no lesson is scheduled.

  • An additional daily practice time is also built into the student’s schedule.

  • Piano skills and performance strategies classes, that focus on developing functional keyboard skills through technique study and keyboard theory, in a small group setting.

  • Students also take one piano elective class. The options are beginning jazz piano or beginning and intermediate piano composition.

Each session of this program is one week long, and students are welcome to attend one or all sessions. A multiple session discount is offered. EARLY BIRD SPECIAL $125 per week (good until March 21).
