Musical Theater After School Program
The National Conservatory of Arts’ innovative CCMP - Musical Theater curriculum will cultivate and nurture the creative artistry of motivated students who wish to develop their combined talent as singers, and actors. Students will be encouraged to fully integrate their training received from NCA’s outstanding music education they receive in the Capital City Music Project to become well-rounded young musicians.
The Integration of Singing and Acting
Our curriculum is designed for the young enthusiastic singer who seeks a program that fully integrates the study of voice with the study of acting. We're committed to the traditions of classically-based vocal training while creating an environment that allows young students to explore the range of musical theatre and popular repertoire expected of today's singers. Students will also take acting and dance classes taught by working professionals in the industry and voice training with leading vocalists from Washington DC's professional music community. Students will also have an opportunity to cross traditional lines and take classical voice training and participate in opera excerpts.

Performance opportunities
In addition to work in classrooms and studios, the program offers performance opportunities in fully staged productions under the guidance of professional directors, choreographers, conductors, musical directors, and designers. Our faculty and guest teaching artists are drawn from all over the East coast’s vibrant community of professional artists who count among their credits Broadway, off-Broadway, regional theatre, and national tours.
Student performances
Students will perform in many musicals and recitals during their training in CCMP-Musical Theater program. In addition, students will make their "debut" in an end of semester performance and a revue designed to feature the work of each student will be created to begin or enhance their portfolios.

Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting. Awaken a young person's desire to read with the sassy little diva, Junie B. Jones, and her adventures in first grade.
